The Butterfly Effect MEME

yellow_butterfly.jpgFirstly, Let me explain what a MEME is…

“In the context of web logs / ‘blogs / blogging and other kinds of personal web sites it’s some kind of list of questions that you saw somewhere else and you decided to answer the questions. Then someone else sees them and does them and so on and so on.” Quote copied from The Daily MEME.

Now, i have dabbled with a MEME before, in my 5 Foods to Live For post, but did not really explain in context. So, there you go, that’s what a MEME is!

I read the following MEME on Dianne’s blog and was inspired to join in. So here is my contribution to… [Read more...]

Euro Blogging By Post

ebbp_6.jpgThe 6th round of Euro Blogging By Post is about to kick off and there’s just a few more days left to register. Euro Blogging By Post is all about sending a randomly selected “partner” a small food parcel and receiving one in return, from another surprise participant.

Parcels will be sent on Monday 2nd October, so register with Johanna at The Passionate Cook.com before 29th September if you want to participate. Participants have to be active bloggers.

As there are participants from all over Europe, the parcel you receive could be filled with all manner of delightful things. I’ll be sending my parcel off on the 2nd Oct and I can’t wait to receive one in return. I’m eager to see what goodies I’ll get, maybe spicy chorizo from Spain, or cheese from France, or chocolates from Switzerland, who know’s!!

I need to have a good think about what to add to my hamper. I’m planning on sending 5 or 6 items produced locally to where I live, possibly even some of mum’s blackberry jam! When I finally decide, I’ll let you know what I’m sending.

As soon as I get my return parcel, I’ll let you know what I got. I’m already excited! It’s like early Christmas!

Food Wallpaper: Oranges

wallpaper_orangeThe first in our regular series of food wallpapers has just been finished and I am really pleased with how it looks. As this is an exciting occasion I decided to use bright vibrant oranges to give everyone a smile and to try and keep what is left of the summer in our minds.

You can always find the latest wallpapers that we create in the wallpapers section (suprisingly) and are free to use them on as many computers as you feel the need. If there is anyone that would like to see larger sizes or other types of food pictured then just drop us a line and we will get something together for you.

Enjoy the first wallpaper and be sure to subscribe to our feed at the bottom of the page to be told when more are released into the wild. So, without further a do, here is the first wallpaper simply entitled “Orange” … [Read more...]

Link Tuesday: An Obsession With Food

derrick_pic.jpgLink Tuesday is a new regular spot I am writing to try and unearth some of the more interesting food web sites and blogs seen today on the Internet. This week I am kicking proceedings off with a site called ObsessionWithFood.com by Derrick Schneider.

The site itself may be lacking a little in a design that is easily readable on a large screen, however this minor down side is more than made up for by the amazing writings that Derrick posts, let’s just say that it is easy to see why he is a food writer. [Read more...]
