Chromium plays an important role in the metabolism of carbohydrates and fats. It helps to take protein where it is needed and also aids in growth.
Chromium has been found beneficial in the prevention and treatment of high blood pressure. It also works as a preventive against diabetes. Studies have also found that chromium supplements control total cholesterol and triglyceride levels, and raise the HDL (good cholesterol).

Romaine Lettuce Salad
Serves 2
1 Romaine Lettuce, coarsely torn
3 Tomatoes, quartered
100g small broccoli florets (bite size)
100g green beans, blanched
1 small red onion, sliced paper-thin
Combine all the ingredients and serve with a dressing of your choice.
You could also add strips of ham to this salad.
