Garlic_01The Isle of Wight Garlic Festival promises to be the biggest ever this year, with an anticipated 20,000 people due to attend.

The world famous Isle of Wight garlic is of course the star, but the festival will be showcasing the very best of the island’s produce, including Dunsbury lamb served in various different ways. There will be over 300 stalls, selling food from hot crusty bread and moules, to beer and ice cream, all flavoured with garlic! There will also be a variety of arts and crafts on sale.

Alvin Stardust will be performing his top twenty hits on the Bubblegum and Cheese stage, as well as the Apple Beatles, both will be supported by some of the best local bands.

There will be a huge beer tent, cricket with the E.C.B, football, The Army, vintage and classic vehicles, tractors, buses and a major fun fair featuring rides making their first visit to the Island.

This event helps raise money for many Island charities and good causes, including our sports teams and it also supports local producers and traders.

Prices: adults £7.50; children £4. Tickets are bought at the gate on the day.

I have lived on the South coast for the majority of my life and I have never been to the Isle of Wight!  I really wanted to go to the garlic festival but just haven’t got my act together in time. Do let me know if you go, I want to hear all about it!
