You know those times when something seems to have exploded in the microwave and it’s near impossible to clean without serious chemical assistance? My mum has a simple way to make cleaning your microwave easier and freshen it at the same time, without a single chemical in sight!
Take a glass or mug and half fill it with water.
Juice half a lemon and add the juice with the squeezed half “shell” to the glass/mug.
Microwave the glass/mug on full power for a minute.
This creates a lemony steam in the microwave which softens and de-greases baked-on food.
You can then simply wipe everything away. Leaving a fresh and clean microwave.
If the microwave is really bad, you may need to do this a couple of times. Be careful as the glass/mug and liquid can become very hot.
