I find this case absolutely ridiculous! Why withdrawl the food item if there is nothing wrong with it? Where does the product go? I hope it is not destroyed due to poor labelling as this food item could be used and not wasted, especially when there are thousands of people starving in the world.
In such cases I think that these products should not be recalled but new labels should be produced and sent to all outlets to stick them on the product warning people that the item contains gluten and a press release should be made informing people of the mistake on the product label and apologising for the inconvienience caused to outlets and customers who may have already bought the item thinking it was gluten free and most certainly offering compensation ONLY if the consumption of this product has produced an alergic reaction to a customer.
