realfoodfestival.pngImagine the very best line-up of produce and ingredients, incredible wines and drinks from small, unique producers, restaurants serving carefully sourced dishes and a comprehensive programme of entertaining and educational workshops where you can discover some of the best food and drink in the world…

The Real Food Festival is taking place at Earl’s Court in London between 24th-27th April 2008. The festival will be pretty much the biggest farmers market ever, where you will be able to visit 500 of not just British, but some of the world’s best small food and drink producers.

During the four days, there’s an amazing range of Taste Workshops created by Sebastiano Sardo and Clodagh McKenna from Food Discovery, where you can meet the producer personally and have tutored tasting on the things you love or always wanted to try.

There’s a Cookery School run by sustainable food guru, Barny Houghton from Bordeaux Quay. Featuring hands-on cookery workshops and demonstrations in sustainable gastronomy, where you can learn to make the simplest things like a loaf of bread.

At the Real Food Theatre you can watch some of the coolest chefs cook up a storm. Hosted by award winning journalist and broadcaster Richard Johnson, the schedule will include demos from Raymond Blanc, Chef-Patron of Le Manoir aux Quat’ Saisons, Shane Osborn from Pied a Terre, Ashley Palmer-Watts from The Fat Duck, Jun Tanaka from Pearl and Sophie Conran.

There will also be a small selection of the UK’s most exciting restaurants serving signature dishes to the visitors to show them the value of seasonal fresh produce and demonstrate traditional regional recipes.

The festival is not just all about food! There’s also a Wine fair where you will also be able to find unique producers of wines, beers and ciders to try and buy.

There will be so much more going on, including a Real Food Debate and a Gala Night, it’s extraordinary that it’s all fitting into just four days! I’ll be visiting the fair on the 24th April and I can hardly wait! For me, this really is THE event of the year and I’m sooo looking forward to it! I really hope you get a chance to visit the festival and support the producers. Tickets are still available, so click here to buy and I hope to see you there!
