RDA Organic, the UK’s fastest growing organic drinks producer, has launched the market’s first chilled organic kids drinks - Sqqquishy smoothie (blackcurrant, apple and banana) and Squeeezy juice (mango, apple and orange) – to appeal to parents and children.
Made with 100% pure organic fruit, the new range makes life easier for parents on the journey to and from school and during family days out. The Squeeezy and Sqqquishy packs are also the perfect size for lunchboxes and will minimise the mess Mum and Dad have to clean up each day. The new packaging features a patented automatic closure valve that makes it virtually spill proof, simple to use, hassle-free for parents, and fun for kids. Children are encouraged to ‘squeeeze’ or ‘sqqquish’ the pack to drink the juice. If the drink is dropped or put down it won’t leak all over the car/lunchbox/carpet and children can take their time finishing the drink. RDA Organic Squeeezy and Sqqquishy are also in line with government school standards and vending machine friendly, making them the convenient and healthy option for children.
Following more than 12 months of research, RDA Organic has responded to demands from parents for honestly priced, pure organic fruit juices that children actually enjoy drinking. Each drink provides children with one portion of their daily fruit requirement and their RDA (recommended daily allowance) of vitamin C. In line with the entire RDA Organic product range, the fruit used is 100% premium organic grade and certified by the Soil Association. The entire chilled range contains no added sugar, no added water, no concentrates, colours or preservatives and importantly for kids – no ‘bits’.
RDA Organic Sqqquishy smoothies and Squeeezy juices are conveniently sold in multipacks of four and are currently stocked in Waitrose and by Ocado.com, as well as various independent chains in the UK (since April 2008 the RDA Organic range is also available in Ireland).
Eating Britain sent a few packs of Sqqquishy and Squeeezy out to some yummy mummies for review and they came back to us very happy indeed! One mum thought they were brilliant for long car journey’s as it didn’t matter if her son put the drink down anywhere - it didn’t spill at all. Another loved RDA’s whole organic and heath conscious ethos. The one thing that came back from everyone that tried them, was that Sqqquishy and Squeeezy taste delicious!
The yummy mummies had a couple of questions about Sqqquishy & Squeeezy and George, at RDA Organic, very kindly answered them for us…
Are the new juice packs freezable?
“Yes, the packs are freezable, we have tried and tested this and it seems to be working great”. A great tip for keeping lunchboxes cool - by popping in a frozen Sqqquishy or Squeeezy - it’ll keep the rest of the food cool and defrost to drinking temperature by lunch time.
Are the packs recyclable?
“With regards to recyclability unfortunately not all local authorities are able to recycle multilayed packaging of this nature. As the packaging format is so new we wanted to launch with an established material. We are, however, currently working with the material manufacturer on a number of recycling initiatives for instance we have been able to make the pack material very lightweight therefore decreasing its carbon footprint when compared to other packaging methods”.
